As Reflection Task- Research and Planning

Abbie and I conducted some primary research in order to find out a bit more about our audience. We created a questionnaire for our target audience. After doing this research we found out that our target audience was people ages 16-35. So we gave our questionnaire to people who fell into our target market. The questions ranged from asking them what their favourite genre of film is to how often do you watch horror films. From this we were able to come to the conclusion that we did have a large target audience as a lot of people said they enjoyed watching horror films and it was their favourite genre of film. The questionnaire also helped a great deal because it made us think about our film more carefully. This meant that we decided to change a few of the features in our film to suit the audience more and make it more enjoyable for them. We also conducted some secondary research. We did this by searching online what stereotypes featured in horror films. Doing this allowed us to carefully plan our film and it made us more aware of the types of characters we needed to include to make the horror film successful. So, this research was effective as it made us more aware of what things the audience like to see in horror films and also what usual horror films include.
The scripts and storyboards we not followed very effectively. This was because we did not plan them carefully enough so it meant that when we got round to filming we realised that some of the shots and scenes were impossible to film. This meant we wasted filming time, and as we already had limited filming time we were starting to run out of time.
