This film poster does not include bright colours. This shows that it is a horror film poster because it is dark and gives out a sinister atmosphere due to the mist. In the distance we can see a large, old house surrounded by trees and mist. The trees however are not green and full of leaves but completely bare. This suggests to the audience that the film is going to be a horror. In the poster we see a tree quite close up. Like the trees in the distance it is bare and looks dead. Hanging off the tree is a rope. The way the rope is tied shows the audience that perhaps someone is going to hang themselves. This gives the audience a sense of fear as they will want to know why someone would hang themself. Underneath the tree we can see a shadow of what looks like a young girl wearing a dress. The fact that you can't see the girl creates a mysterious atmosphere for the audience because they will be wondering if the rope and the young girl are linked. It will also make them think about why she would be standing near it which may lead them to suspect that maybe there is something haunting going on.
