Film Poster Analysis- White House Down

The film poster shows The White House up in flames and a man covered in dirt and smoke walking away from it. The man walking away from the burning building is positioned in the center of the film poster. The point in this is that the audience will mainly focus on this. They will also be able to see what is behind and above him. The fact he is walking away from the burning White House could suggest to the audience that he is the one who has burnt it down. This would make the audience curious as to what has gone on and if he is the one who burnt it down why is he walking away unharmed? At the bottom of the poster we see the title of the film 'White House Down'. The title is in white like the other posters, again, to make it stand out against the dark background. At the top of the film poster the names 'Channing Tatum' and 'Jamie Foxx'. These are two well known actors so it is very effective putting their names on the poster because it will make the audience want to come and watch the film because they will want to see these actors. Underneath these names we see the names of three different films made by the same producer and also the producer of the film. The three films shown are well known successful films. The effectiveness of this is that the audience will know what the producer is capable of and also they will assume that the film will be good because they have made successful films before so they will be more inclined to go and watch the film.
