Horror Trailer- House at the end of the street

The trailer starts with very quiet non- diegetic music playing. The setting is quite scary as it is dark and we see a girl walking down a deserted road alone. As a car pulls over and ask if she wants a lift, she declines and lies about where she lives. This isn't something the audience would get to scared about because not many people tend to get into cars with strangers anyway. In the end she ends up getting into the car with the boy, called Jacob and during this journey she states that his parents were killed. This then makes the audience question how Jacob's parents were killed and perhaps if he had anything to do with it. The scene then switches to the girl and her mother talking about Jacob's house. The mother says that his house is the only reason they can afford to rent their new house. This would then lead the audience to come to the conclusion that perhaps the parents were killed in that house and he is still living there. This is then confirmed when the scene immediately switches to the house where the killing took place and we see a young girl, the daughter murder her parents. We do not see her face which puts the audience on edge as they would have no idea why the girl would kill her parents so violently. The scene is constructed with a series of 2 to 4 second clips. This is effective as it shows a quicker account of what happened on the night Jacob's parents where killed. As the scene is continuing we hear the diegetic sound of a man's voice explaining what happened to the girl after this. He explains that the daughter drowned in the lake however they didn't find the body. He also states that 'You can see her in the woods'. Just as he says that the scene switches to the girl and her mother walking back to their house and the girl looks back into the woods as if she can see something. We then see an image of the girl through the woods. Then something walks in front of the camera. This would put the audience on edge because then they will believe that the girl who murdered her parents is still alive. They may also believe that the girl who was looking to the woods is in danger because it seemed as if the person in the woods is spying on her, perhaps as her next victim.  We are then shown a number of different other shots all in which explain how the girl, Elissa is starting to think that Jacob is nothing but an innocent and lonely boy. We are then shown a close up of Elissa's mothers face explaining how she doesn't want them alone in his house together. The next shot that follows is a close up of Elissa. This shot is effective as it is showing her facial expression. From this we can tell that perhaps she is not going to obey her mothers rules. This is then confirmed when the next part of the trailer shows a series of 2-3 second clips of Ryan and Elissa alone in the house and then a young girl coming up from under the floorboards. The audience will probably expect this to be the girl who killed her and Ryan's parents. During this the music is at a medium pace and it is louder than it has been during the beginning of the trailer. However, the music then stops as we see Elissa walking into a room and saying 'oh my god'. Just as she says this we can see a scary looking figure of a girl in the background. This is when the music starts very suddenly again and loudly. At this point in time it is clear to the audience that Elissa has come into contact with the girl as we see a series on 1 second long shots which show Elissa and the girl in some kind of struggle. From this point onwards we see lots of different shots showing Elissa clearly in a very dangerous situation as it seems she is running from someone. At this point it isn't entriely clear if she is running from Jacob or his deranged sister. This puts the audience on edge as they will want to know who is the real villain.
