After collecting various secondary research I can conclude that horror films are mainly aimed at people aged 15-35, specifically men. The target audience usually involve teenagers who are mostly curios and daring. This is because most horror films involve unknowing, immature teenagers as the main protagonists. This means that our film will perhaps have a wide target audience because the main characters shown in our trailer are teenagers as the main protagonists. Research shows that both genders are interested in horror films but males do actually enjoy it more because there is lots of violence and terror. However this certain aspect of the target audience research does not link with our film because we are not including lots of violence and terror. There is not a huge amount of violence shown on screen and only minimal amounts of terror. Research also shows that horror films are aimed at teenagers and young adults who want an adrenaline rush from being fearful of something/someone. The fact that the main characters in our film are teenagers could mean that our target audience will be more interested in our film because they can relate to the characters. Also, men are usually more interested in a horror film if there is a women victim. This means that because are film trailer involves a woman victim it could entice a bigger audience as we are involving things that the audience are interested in. Our trailers genre is horror and it is based in a woodland area meaning that our film would follow other films with the same characteristics such as "Cabin In The Woods", "The Blair Witch Project" and "Mama". As all of these films are set in one particular location instead of various locations like "Saw" the audience are able to get a more depth concept of what the characters are feeling.
